Charon Otherworld Rites Candle

   Charon, a figure from Greek mythology, is the ferryman in the underworld, transporting souls across the river Styx to the realm of the dead.

    This candle represents the transition from life to death and the journey to the underworld. It is a guide (psychopomp) to assist ones who have left this realm and help them in their journey to the afterlife.

   The coin is a symbol for payment to Charon and the safe passage to the Otherworld.

  Charon Otherworld Rites is the human experience of mortality and the passage from one state of being to another and is a beautiful way to honour our loved ones and hold their hand symbolically as they embark to the other.

   Honour your Ancestors, recent and from another time. Open a line of communication and know they are near. Death is not and was not the end, we all can heal and grow from this realm and they can in the other. So Death is but a transition from this body to the next, from this mind set to another.
